They had to make some adjustments for the pool being partially out of the ground on the back side.

Tile went in when I was at work and here's where the problem for my OCD began...

This is not a directional tile but it looks like it should have been. It sounds like I just have to get over it because it does not seem to bother anyone but me. :)

Forgot I had an upstairs window for a minute there.

This will probably be my home view most of time, sipping a cold one, enjoying the bubbles.

I will say that after I correct the things I did not like on the stone guys work, they really did some cool stuff. I will post some close ups later for other people that like rocks like me.

That's where we are at the moment.

The pygmy date palm will need to be well protected when the temp goes below 32. The others are more cold hardy and survive down here in SE Texas with no worries. Not so sure about up in N. Texas. I lost 5 pygmy date palms last year out of 7 as I put most of my effort into saving the two biggest and most important.

They start clean up today in preperation for decking. Because the deck spans 33' across the patio and I want to add some LV lighting, I spent some money and ran two 3/4 electrical conduits from one side to the other this weekend. I added junction boxes, and a fish line to make it easy to install once the slab goes down... I hope.
I was planning on using the second conduit for speaker wire one day, but I already have outdoor speakers wired into my home audio system that is controlled from my phone.
But better safe than sorry.

Back of the pool sticks out of the ground a lot more than I had hoped but you can tell
Much with the grading until they work it over.
We also plan for a raised bed all the way around the back of the pool so the shrubs and such will pop up over the wall.

Okay I need opinions (but I think I know the answer)
I have 4 3 year old peach trees along the fence. They were intended for shade but give some nice peaches. But I know they will drop everything in the pool.

So do they stay folks, or do they need to go?

What can I put in thier place that will grow quickly but provide shade and not drop stuff in the pool in fall?

Make sure the decking guys know that the overfill drain line needs to be extended past the end of the decking... I mentioned this on another persons build too because the posted pictures showed the line cut off right in the middle of the deck like yours. If I hadn't mentioned that to my own decking crew they would have just covered it up with concrete, defeating it's intended purpose.

Everything looks great so far!

Cherry Bay Laurels will work great. They are native to NTX and perfect backdrop. Leaves do not shed and stay green most of year. Once mature will have little white flowers that attract butterflies/hummers. We had three Bays in back of our pool at former home in DFW area. Sure wish we had them at current home, but will have to start over. Our were from SW Nursery but can find other places around town if you look, and sometimes a sale.
