High CYA but can't drain till Fall

I had to drain 2/3 of our water after we moved into our house this summer, previous owner used the trichlor pucks. I can only drain to the sewer cleanout or water the grass, pool water cannot go down the stom drains here. I bought a cheap harbor freight pump but that pump was defective.

I ended up using the pool pump to do the work. Our pool has pressure side cleaner line for the Polaris cleaner, so I rigged up an extra fitting to the vacuum hose and ran that to the cleanout. Drained 14,000 gallons in 5 hours (2,800 GPH), and it did not overwhelm the plumbing. Refilling took 13 hours, and managing the water chemistry has been easy since.
