New IG Pool Build in Mesa Arizona

We failed inspection yesterday as expected. PB called before the plumbing was finished so it couldn't hold pressure not to mention the muddy rebar.

Plumbers finished yesterday and the piping held 35 psi all night. Laborers returned this morning to dig out the mud and gain required 3" clearance under rebar. Project Manager is here now fine tuning. Another inspection is set for today. Oops, he's here.

The three big trees are ficus. Two West and one East of the pool. Then there are three citrus (smaller trees). One lemon, one lime and the third came with the house, we believe it's a tangelo.

Did some reading about the ficus and root problems. We've decided to install a "root barrier" product when we do the irrigation.

Here are the gunite photos.

Shields up!

The steps are forming up.

A lot of work when into the spa and bench.

They ran a little short after filling in the wall washout, erosion of the steps and bench. They had to clean out the gunite pump before it hardened so the mixer driver backed it into the RV access and they carried buckets of gunite to finish the spa bench and floor.

I've been told that the water line tile will go in tomorrow.

More to follow.

Our tile installer was here bright and early Monday morning. He put in his eight hours and wasn't quite finished so he'll return this morning.

We were fascinated by how meticulous he was as he worked. I guess that's important because if the tile isn't level it will show when we fill the pool.

Close up of the water feature.

A few shots of the spa.

We're schedule for our coping and patio later this week.

It's moving faster than we thought it would but it's difficult to be patient when it's so close...:bounce:

The rain only impacted us by failing the rebar and electric inspection and only by a day. The coping/patio paver crew is behind and has a couple of jobs ahead of us and the rain may have slowed them down. We're told to expect them late next week.

The patio crew was here Saturday, Monday and Tuesday (1/2 day). They laid the tumbled travertine pavers (Ivory) very quickly considering all of the cutting they had to do.

Here are some shots after they left on Monday.

And here is the finished product. We couldn't be happier with the way it turned out (unless it was free). I hope these post correctly as the photos are all different sizes. The wife did some yard sale shopping and we now have some gently used patio furniture.

The wet look in this shot is after they hosed off the excess sand.

The clean up crew was supposed to come yesterday but they didn't. Our street is being slurry coated so nothing is going to happen today. They are going to schedule the final inspection tomorrow.

We're almost there.
