Hello, from new member in Iowa!
Getting close to winter shutdown and I'm still renovating my 24' Doughboy AGP I installed 16 yrs ago. I found this site looking for robotic cleaners!
This summer was removal of some large Maple trees near pool to provide more than 4 hours of sun per day (and lose the helicopter seeds) and then removal of original liner. Liner was still perfect, no leaks, no fading. Removal was to create a deep end per Doughboy's specs, install sand, and replace with new expandable liner. Deep end was dug by hand while pool wall was still up! (yeah, I know, I'm crazy cheap!) Calculated approximately 27 cu. yd. of dirt was shoveled out. Liner has been installed, water up to skimmer until next spring. Now deck is being built around rest of pool to join existing lower deck on one side.
Besides deck project, I will be upgrading the electrical, moving the pump/filter, hard plumb everything, and install two solar panels. Wife wants a slide on the new deck going into the deep end so plumbing for that as well.
Not much swim time this year, but looking for more next year!
Thanks for all the good info here.
