My pump came today, quick question my old pump is not bolted down, shouldn't pumps be bolted to pad? Thanks all
Well after 1 month or so my vsp started making a squeak noise on startup & stopping, called Zodiac they said i should have a tech come and look at it might need to be lubed or something rubbing. Anyone have any thoughts on this.
Have a tech look at it while it is under warranty. I ignored my noisy 2-speed pump and I had to replace the motor 6 months out of warranty.
Yes will do that, if I can get someone to service it where I live. The original installer moved 100 miles away.

Jandy's warranty doesnt include labor, isnt that ****. I could see if it was something that the installer did, but a defective pump..wow. they told me the noise on startup & shut down were normal.
I pulled the end motor off, took off the diffuser, then spun the impeller there is a spot that makes a squeal when turning by hand. Think this might be a bad bearing..
Not sure if it is a bearing, but something is definitely wrong with it.
When I pulled my motor apart, the bearings were shot and the rotor was worn on one side and it made a slight squeal when turned by hand. My old motor never was quiet like my new one and I just thought that the pump I had was loud to begin with.

I think I'll ask this question here, hope its OK. The same pump is sucking a little air in from the lid basket gasket, I did add silicone lube and check to make sure it was clean, but it seems when I tighten the lid, it hits the stops before getting tight. Zodiac said it should hit the stops, that doesn't sound correct to me, anyone have this problem? Maybe a new lid o ring, after 1 year.
It could be that the o-ring has gotten deformed. Trying a new one should be a fairly inexpensive test if you are sure it is leaking around that area.
I just don't like the way it hits those stops, I think your right it looks like the lid o ring is flattened out. Thank you as always your always there for us.
