    Re: Jandy VS FHP 2.0

How much does your electricity cost? Do you actually need more than 2 speeds?
Would be cheaper to just replace the motor on your existing pump with a 2-speed version ... run high for the spa and low for filtration.

First 1000 kWh @ 0.0067, then 0.0039 kWh after that. I am not to sure on how they read that. Thanks.

    Re: Jandy VS FHP 2.0

That does not look right ... would be VERY cheap. It needs to be > $0.20 per kWh before a VS makes sense over a 2-speed.

    Re: Jandy VS FHP 2.0

Sorry here it is 1st 1000 kWh @ 0.0600770 over jumps to 0.071590 that is non fuel
    Fuel is 1st 1000 kWh @ 0.029470 then 0.039470.
    Hope this helps.

    Maybe that is cheap...

    Re: Jandy VS FHP 2.0

So $0.09 to $0.11 per kWh ... yeah a VS does not make financial sense over a cheaper 2-speed motor.

Thank you, could a 2 speed be controlled by IAqualink setup?

    Re: Jandy VS FHP 2.0

Most automation systems will control 2-speed pumps ... usually need to have 2 relays available. I do not know anything about the Jandy systems though.

I have the "E" stealth version of that pump and love it. Works great with all my Jandy automation. Quite honestly my setup is only using 2 speeds, however I have not noticed a big rise in my electricity bill while using it. You will probably have to do the math and compare the costs of that VS pump and a 2 speed.

Is that a VSP pump, or 2 speed? The pump is the only thing that is left on the upgrade, I have a Pentair WhisperFlow single speed now...makes a lot of noise when running..

    Re: Jandy VS FHP 2.0

It is VSP. Very Very quiet. I have to be standing right next to it to hear a very faint hum. Now my Polaris Booster pump.....Not so much. It is not real loud, but much more noise than the E-Pump.

The 2 speed is also very quiet on low. You have to decide if the premium is worth the cost even though you may never recoup the extra $.

    Re: Jandy VS FHP 2.0

If I could just take the 2 speed install it, and hook it up to my IAqualink and set the speeds from it, but was told would require more work, while the vsp would just connect . The few extra dollars is not a problem, not to sure with Jandy .

I'll tell you Jandy tech really hate to give any help, I just wanted to know if my iAqualink was compatible they said I should get the info from a licensed pool installer. Just a yes or no would of done it.

    Re: Jandy VS FHP 2.0

I just spoke to my pool installer and he said if I didn't buy it from him, even if he installs it, I would still lose the warranty...is that so?

Called Zodiac, and they said as long as I have a purchase slip for it they warrant it for a year. Which is good..

Maybe. You would have to ask Jandy.
