Main Drain Screws

I believe these screws are aluminium, will the salt in the pool have any effect on them, like eroding or weakening them? Thanks

If they are aluminum then I would think they will corrode either with or without running a SWG. Are you sure they are aluminum, as I find it hard to believe anyone would supply aluminum screws. In any case replace them with known stainless screws.

I tried that but I was told SS screws will not last, I did order some for it, and they look to be aluminum and very light. Maybe that's why they break...just curious.

Use stainless. That is industry standard for most pool fastener applications.

Just be sure to tell the clerk they are for a pool so she will remember to double the price!

I went to Ace Hardware bought 2, put one in the skimmer basket, after a weak showed signs of rusting, I think it was a pour grade of SS.
