Bubbles in the return lines

I have tiny bubbles coming out of my return outlets. Not a whole lot of bubbles either. Looks a bit like carbonation fizz. My Pentair pump does have three dollar sized bubbles that I can see banging around. I think they have always been there (even before I noticed the fizzies). Is it true that there should be no bubbles showing in the pump strainer window?
Any tips for tracking down the source of my fizzy bubbles?

You should not see any air in the pump.

You should not see bubbles in the pump strainer window.
Bubbles in the return/pump are indicative of a suction side leak.

Do you have a SWG? They can generate bubbles that make it to the pool, but only when generating.
