Plumbing advice

Hi evebody,

I'm in the process to rethink all the composant of my pool. At this point I have few of them:

- Jandy CL460 filter
- ecopump EP1 2 speed 0.75/1.25HP
- new vinyl liner 15x24

I'm about to buy:

- 2" flex pipes
- 1 x Jandy diverter 3 ports 2/2.5" (model #4717)
- 4 x Jandy 2 port valve 2/2.5" (model 4716)
- some unions

Result of my thinking is represented here:

What do you think? Is the hardpipe plump is a better option?

Thank you guys

Hard plumbing is certainly a better option if possible.

Why do you have so many valves on the suction side? You could just have the single 3-way valve (BTW, much better to have the common pipe in the middle port, in this case, make the middle port go to the pump).

If you just need to shut the flow for cleaning the pump/filter, then #3 would be sufficient and save $100 by not getting #1 and #2.

Hi Jason,

Thank you for the response. for the suction part, I've put valve 1 and 2 just in case I have to service the 3 port valve. Next question I had in mind while doing this: how often the 3 port valve need to be serviced? not so often so valves 1 and 2 can go

thank you for your suggestion!!

The valve should not hardly ever need servicing. What would you do when you have to "service" the 2 way valves? ;)

It is easy to plug the skimmer/vac port and cover the floor drain.
