Ladies stockings to add CYA to skimmer?

As a way to 'sock' my CYA, can I use ladies stockings? I use them to keep humidity beads in my humidor and I have some spares that could be used to 'sock' my CYA granules.

Does anyone see any reason against this?

I've seen where some folks have torn a hole in them dumping all the Granules to the bottom. I'd use old hole-less athletic socks if I were you.

I don't know that I have any I'm willing to sacrifice right now.

No need to sacrifice, I've used the pair i'm using 3 times already, they look like new. No stress, no mess emphasis on the mess part.

Meh. I just went for loose cya in my skimmer baskets. Ran about a pound per basket through until it cleared out of them and the pump basket and then repeated the process again. Gonna see where 4 lbs lands me (poolmath wanted 6.5)

Noticed no changes in the pump pitch or flow. Was careful of that.

Home Depot has 1 gal paint strainers, work great. Cheap

I use my wife's old panty hose. make sure to use the brown ones. I used black ones once and they started to leach the color.

Well looks like my CYA is up to 60 from 30. I'm still going to wait until a week to get a 'final' number before adding more to get up to 70.
