Hi

I see some green stuff at the bottum of the pool and some on the side wall. it goes away when we brush and comes back on the next day.
pool numbers are FC 8, CC 1 PH 7.2. I had similar problem last year at the same time . that time I used some aleagy controll from leslie pool. and it worked. any recommendations?

How do you get your FC? Tablets, bleach? It would also be of great help to post a full set of results to include CYA.

My guess is that your CYA level is high and the FC of 8 is not high enough to stop algae growth.

You can take control of your pool using TFP. It will be easier and cheaper if you do some reading and testing.

I think i got your point. I use Laundry bleach for chlorine but at the same time i use tablets once in a week . I read on this site that tablets could increase CYA Level. my CYA is 40-50. I use testing kit recommended by this site. I never go to pool shop to test the water. what is the recommendation at this time? should i Slam the pool?

Do a complete set of tests from your test kit as Kimkats has suggested and post them here so we can see what the water chemistry is.

The green alone says a SLAM is needed.

Stock up on chlorine/bleach and get started.

Don't forget to brush every thing. Take the stairs out and look inside any lights you might have.
