My diamondbrite surface has always been rough

My diamondbrite surface has always been rough since day one. its like a medium coarse sandpaper. I brushed like crazy for the first year and it never made any difference. my pH and Calcium levels are always right on target. When I asked the builder last year he told me it was normal for diamondbrite because of the exposed aggregate.
is this right? does draining and acid washing will make the surface smooth? I don't think they ever acid washed when the plaster was first done...

I suppose it's what you consider rough. What you describe does sound excessive if it truly is like coarse SP.

Yes I'm pretty sure it's excessive. So, is anything can be done?

I have a similar surface, and the plaster company told me the surface can be polished. You might call SGM and see what they say.
