Attach Dirt Eater Skimmer Model 3 Filter to Intex Sand Filter

I have a Dirt Eater Skimmer, it states it's a model 2, but they sent me the model 3 sand filter adaptor and told me it would work. How do I attach this to an Intex Sand Filter Model SF9011OT? All the hoses are huge on the sand filter and the input/output on the adapter seem so small that I can't imagine getting and adapter for the adapter. Would really like to get a month out of this pool before we have to shut it down. Please help!!!
