Hayward pumps

I'm looking at replacing my pump with a 1/2 hp Hayward model, and I'm having a hard time understanding the differences in their models. Specifically, I'm looking at the Hayward Super Pump 1/2 HP (SP2600X5) vs the Hayward Power-Flo 2 1/2 HP (SP1750). The "Super Pump" is marketed as an in ground pool pump vs the Power Flo being marketed as an above ground. I can't see much discernible difference though other than the physical design and slightly different GPM ratings.

In-ground pumps are self priming....meaning they can suck air through the pipes until the water flows in. Above ground pumps cannot as they generally are right next to the pool, have only 3-4 feet of hose and the water flows right down into them.
