New Build, getting close to done sort of TONS of pics!

Well, my wife decided she wanted a pool and it was her dream to have one of those rock slides so we finally started getting it done. I could live with or without a pool but now that it is being built I do have to admit I am excited about it

    Original sketched plan:

Picking a spot in the yard:

The dig (3.6' to 8', actually 8.5'): The dig crew showed up late in the afternoon but really wanted to finish it the same day, I brought out some flood lights and they did! Lol

Time for some steel! Bond beam (4) #4 bars continuous at 8" o.c.e.w. (all steel #4's)

    Gunite being shot

    Some plumbing pics, 2" plumbing:

    Waterline tile choice:

    Flagstone and rock work construction:

OK, here is the part in the build (for a pool I did not originally want) where my mind started racing around and thinking of stuff to do and all the stuff I can do before the decks go in... so here are some things that I personally knocked out before the deck pour. I was just a liiiiiiiitle busy…

I re-routed the fill valve that the plumbers put in and hid it in a box that you can see close to the corner. I also put in water supply for a hose bibb.

I installed a sprinkler system and supplied water to each of the big beds as well as each of the small beds behind the 3 waterfalls. Figured I could do a 3 zone system on this, I'm hoping at least, never installed sprinklers before.

I had a big area of deck poured in one corner so I could build an outdoor kitchen at a later date. I will start a new thread in the appropriate forum when I tackle that. I ran a new circuit to power the kitchen, along with conduit for speaker wire that goes to each of the back corners, water supply, propane line, a ground to the pool rebar, and and electrical run to the big flower beds and the fire pit area for outlets. I will have a panel in the kitchen and all of these will be separate from the power going to the pool equipment.

    Deck Pour:

Texture coat for SunDek and SunDek (Mission Tan):

Thanks! I bought this house because it reminded me of City Park in New Orleans. You can take the man out of Louisiana but you can't take Louisiana out of nobody! WHO DAT!!! Lot's of oaks on the property…

Here is the front and other side of property, there is around 80 oaks and the pond is lined with around 35 Cypress trees:

Thanks! Screen enclosure going up this coming week.:good job: Would of preferred to spend that coin on more pool cuz those things are stupid expensive IMO but… you are correct, the oak leaves plus the 2-3 times a year we get massive swarms of mosquitos justified the enclosure.

Re: New Build, getting close to done sort of TONS of pics!

Here is a picture of the fire pit area. I ordered the Warming Trends MLS250 with the electronic ignition so I can control it through automation. I ordered the burner in a 38" size and the pit will be probably 62". I ordered a 60" cover for it so I suspect I can't go any bigger than 62" and stretch it (got the cheap Veranda one, has good reviews). I will draw it out before it is built to make sure I have good clearance all around and enough space for seating.

The next two pics show the plumbing I ran for the sprinkler system. I put a water source behind each of the three waterfalls and each of the two big gardens. I put in three valves so I can do a three zone system. One big garden, one big garden, and the three waterfalls. I also installed low voltage wire for lights to each of the gardens.

Construction of the enclosure began two days ago and will be completed today.

Plaster crew showed up today! Yaaaaaayyyyyy...

Very nice, I am guessing you must have a lot of bugs for the screening.

2-3 times a year the mosquitos get unbearable. One time would be enough.

Thanks! For once, I chose something in a Tier 1 category. LMAO

Another update: Pool is filled! I'm surprised it was this quick filling from a well. Took about 30 hours to fill the pool and then the spa. Waited up for it to end so there was no overflow. Ended at 1:07 a.m 8/16, so roughly 30 hours with 2 hoses. Will start dumping chemicals tomorrow after equipment is finished which is supposed to be in the morning (hope I wake up)...
