Hi, my pool pump for a while looses its prime when the timer shuts off. I return home from work and sometimes the pump is just running dry. I recently replaced the mechanical seal, and o rings on the pump and lid. It has progressively gotten worse, now it will not prime itself...it needs to be filled with water every time to start it. Can anyone help me figure out the culprit to this problem...Thanks alot!

The leak may not be at the pump, a leak in the filter could also allow the pump to drain at night. But it should be able to prime itself, and that failure points to a suction leak.
Do you see leaks anywhere? Can you hear air bubbling in when the pump turns off?
