De filter site glass green

Good morning. Just noticed that the site glass of the de filter is green. I assume that's normal since that water just sits there until the next backwash? I back washed about a month ago for the first time.

Mine was pretty gross when I moved in to this house. You can unscrew it and clean it out. There should not be any water there unless you backwash.
