Re: Optimal flow rates for variable speed pumps

Please do not add your question in another poster's thread. It creates confusion and your question does not get the attention it deserves by being lost in another thread. Butterfly

I would like to run my VS at 1500 rpm. I have the main and skimmer plumbed seperate .? Should I shut off main drain to get a better flow rate to the skimmer or maybe lower water level to 1/3 wier door hieght and the try 75/25 skimmer to main ratio?

Re: Optimal flow rates for variable speed pumps

What problem are you trying to solve?

You want a low rate on your pump but are concerned the skimmer won't clear the pool? Do you have lots of trees? Do you also run a pool sweep?

I'd just lower the pump speed and see what happens for a week. If the debris clear then you don't have a problem. Its always good to have a deep suction source for better circulation and filtering.
