pump lost prime

hi guys,

so i had my pool opened late as i had construction going.. the pool was good to go and had a good prime, and i started to vacuum my pool. I attached the vacuum hose to the skimmer, it was sucking up the dirt from the bottom of the pool and suddenly lost prime.. i'm not sure why.. now, i was trying to get the prime back but i'm having a hard time.

I forced the water using a priming plug and i can see water coming into the pump basket but it's not creating a big suction. I'm not sure what to do.. any help will be good. thanks

Make sure you connect the right end of the vacuum hose, if you connect the "swivel end" then your pump will/may lose prime.

The two ends are not identical although they appear that way.
