Adding a 2nd return on oval pool?

I have a 2 speed pump and prefer to run it on low with the heater running. With the return on the end of the pool the water doesn't really reach the other end easily. I was thinking of adding a 2nd return on the other end to help heat up faster and to help circulate the water better.

Is this a good idea or not recommended?

If you can do it without sacrificing the integrity of the pool (watertightness, etc) then it will absolutely be a good idea in my head.
