    Dust or algae? (AZ)

A question for our Arizona folks. We've been having monsoons; how can I tell if I have an early case of algae, or if it's just dirt in the pool from the rain and wind?

I usually assume that any dirt on the bottom of my pool right after a storm is dirt

If you maintained adequate FC, it is likely dust. An OCLT can check for higher than normal FC loss due to organics.

Thanks folks. I swept last night and overnight I did not see a chlorine drop. Looks better!
