So after much debate, we decided we needed to build a retaining wall around the pool. Because we don't have a fence around all the property, by law we need pool walls 48" above ground. We have 54" pool height so only had 6" of backfill even possible. However bottom of pool is about 14" below yard level. Was going to try and slope it but the pool builder didn't dig back far enough for a smooth enough slope, so I decided Saturday morning we need to build a wall. We had never built one before so just followed Youtube and other websites. First row was a pain to get fully level, but I'm glad we did this. Still need to fill in with pebbles and need to back fill electrical trench, but we're getting there. Maybe eventually a deck over where the wall is.
