esurfer... I would personally start looking at pricing new liners because it will more than likely tear more over the winter and you'll need a new one if you want to swim next year. JMO.
I had a MUCH larger tear in the same spot when I opened my pool this year (just bought the house). There was a big patch over the middle of it already. My buddy that owns a pool store tossed a big piece of scrap vinyl over it and it has been perfectly fine all season. I'll probably be replacing my liner next year though.
