Oil/ foam on top of pool

During this summer every time I put chlorine amd algecid into the pool this foamy oil stuff comes up, the green pool is the foam about 5 hours before the picture with a blue pool, I would like to know what this is and how to prevent it

That foam is probably the algaecide reacting with the chlorine.

If you follow our methods and maintain adequate FC for your CYA level all the time, you'll never need algaecide. I've never put a drop in my pool and I haven't had an algae bloom in over four years continuously open. If you want to use algaecide as insurance, stop buying the cheap stuff and spend the bucks on Polyquat 60.
