Thread: salt how much should I add?

salt how much should I add?

I have noticed that my eyes sting a little bit when I'm in my pool. I read here that your eyes have a certain amount of salt. And if your pool is not the same as your eyes it can sting. So I added one 40lb bag. It seemed to help a little. Could I add more? Thanks. Filix.

    What are your test results?

More likely is a way high or low pH. Normal pH for tears/eye fluids is 7.4-7.6. If your pool deviates too far from that, you will get that stinging.

Why not measure your current salt level and use PoolMath to tell you how much to add to reach your target?

For a non-SWG pool, seems that 2000ppm is typical.
