Questions on raising PH

My PH is 7.2 and i wanna raise it to 7.5, ive read you should add sodium carbonate, but can i add sodium BIcarbonate, and how much should i add for a 8k gallon pool, was thinking 3ounces

Sodium bicarbonate, baking soda, raises TA a lot and PH just a tiny amount. It isn't a very good way to raise PH.

Both sodium carbonate, also called soda ash, and borax are good ways to raise PH.

Two ounces? I'm assuming that a typo since 2 oz of baking soda added to 8,000 gallons of water will only raises the TA by 1.1 ppm

you sure? my TA is 70 how much sodium bicarbonate do i need to raise to 100

Well according to PoolMath for a 8,000 gallon pool, to take TA from 70 ppm to 100 ppm you need 56 oz (weight ) of baking soda.

That's good because a ton will increase your TA by 17,846 ppm where a pound will increase it by 9 ppm. PoolMath
