We have had a pool for the last 7 years and I have always been in charge of vacuuming and swimming, lol. My husband left for an out of town for business and I had to take care of the pool. The night before he left we discovered algae. So after a very long week of researching and dumping in chemicals I found this forum and was able to get rid of the algae. I ordered my K-2006 kit off amazon and got it the next day so I could get started. I did exactly what I learned and I am proud to say we will no longer be frequenting the pool store, my husband is totally on board. My question is I seem to be losing a lot of chlorine and wanted to make sure I am doing things right, so here's my latest reading. We lose anywhere between 2-4ppm per day of chlorine. Now I will say we have had a lot of sunshine, even though it's been cooler here in the last 2 weeks.

We did drain about 6" of water 2 weeks ago and the CYA came down from 100 to 70. My PH has been between 7.6 and 7.4 steady.
