Our pool has had a steady pH of 7.5 all week. The kids were away during the week and the pool did not get used. They returned on Sunday and headed straight for the pool. When I tested pH today it is up to 7.8. Is it possible that swimming and splashing would cause this number to go up?

That is the most likely explanation. A high TA will cause pH to naturally drift upward as well.
TA has been decreasing. On 7/4 it was 140, 7/8 was 120, and 7/12 was 110. Should I add something to adjust the TA or just let it come down on it's own?
Just lower the PH to 7.2 each time it gets to 7.8 until the TA is in the normal range and all should be fine.
