Leveling for 24' pool

Hello!

New member here.

I am leveling the site for my pool (had to dig in one side about 12") and am hitting tree roots. I have it level within 1.5" or so, but am having LOTS of trouble with these roots. I am planning on using 1" foam sheets underneath and was wondering if I could just level the patio blocks (1" thick), fill the area with 3/4" gravel and pack it level (I already have the gravel from another yard job) up to the blocks and then use the foam boards on top of that.

What could go wrong?:p The blocks would be on the dirt, not the gravel.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You should use crushed if you have it with a plate compactor. That's your best bet and will work. Start your radius at 28 ft n move in with it.
