Sorry, this year has been a challenge, after getting this pool (with the house) 2 years ago. I've slammed the pool twice and thought the algae was under control this year.
FC 4-5, CC 0, pH 7.4, TA 100, CH 175, CYA 50. I'm using the pool calculator.
I'm trying to get my TA down to 70 so that I can add borates. However, when I add 500 cc 31% acid to drop my pH to 7.2 and then aerate, my FC drops to 0.5 and I had green in the pool this morning. I guess that actually makes sense since the acid would combine with the bleach. When I add bleach to restore the FC, the pH goes up again. How do I get this TA down without green outbreaks?
I'm not sure the aeration is doing anything other than cooling off my pool.
