I'm trying to decide between a Super Pump VS (SP2600VSP) and a Max-Flo VS (SP2300VSP). I think both have enough power for my 20,000 gal pool. Both appear to have the same controls. Both are advertised as 1.5 hp units, but the Super Pump VS seems to be able to pump more water for a given head and RPM. The only advantage I see of the Max-Flo VS is that it will connect directly to my 2" plumbing.
Would it be acceptable to adapt the 1.5" ports of the Super Pump VS to my 2" plumbing?
Which is the more efficient pump? (Too bad the manufactures don't actually publish efficiency curves.)
