    Wrong valve?

New (to us) (to us) pool. I have a de filter. My valve says "for sand filters only!"

Why is it that some valves are made only for sand filters?

What am I risking by leaving it in place?

25,000? gallon IG Plaster; Pentair FNS Plus DE Filter; 1.5hp Challenger PAC-FAB Self-Priming Pump; no heater; no cover; old Polaris with PB4 1.5hp Booster Pump. Built in 1970s. Replastered last year.

    Re: Wrong valve?

Generally the inlet and outlet filter pipes are opposite between sand and DE filters. Post up a picture showing more of the equipment and plumbing.
