# Thread: Pool Pilot Power Levels & Purifier Percentage Questions

1. ## Pool Pilot Power Levels & Purifier Percentage Questions

I have the Pool Pilot DIG-220 SC-60 cell which produces 1.92 lbs of chlorine per 24 hours when set at 100% on cell power 3. I was wondering if anyone knows the relationship between power levels and purifier percentage and could answer the following:

At what rate does the production drop as you reduce the purifier percentage but keep the same power level?

Similarly, at what rate does the production drop as you reduce power levels but keep the same purifier percentage?

Is there some overlap between the power levels? For example is 50% power level 3 equivalent to 100% at power level 2?

Is there a chart or graph somewhere that shows the relationship between the two settings?

Also, regarding cell life, is it better to run the unit at a higher power level and lower purifier percentage or vice versa?

Thanks

The percentage setting is linear. 50% produces half as much chlorine as 100%.

Power levels are a bit less uniform. Power level 2 is 81% of level 3. and Power level 1 is 62% of level 3.

Cell lifetime is a direct function of the amount of chlorine produced, regardless of power level or percentage. For other reasons, you should pick the power level that gets you closest to a 50% percentage level. Since you have a large cell, that is likely to be at power level 1. That will get you the best results from the automatic temperature compensation.

3. ## Re: Pool Pilot Power Levels & Purifier Percentage Questions

Thanks! So for an SC-60/RC-52 cell would the following would be correct?

SC-60 produces:

1.92 lbs (30.72 oz) per 24 hours @ power level 3 @ 100%
1.56 lbs (24.88 oz) per 24 hours @ power level 2 @ 100%
1.19 lbs (19.05 oz) per 24 hours @ power level 1 @ 100%
