If my pool holds 17,000 gallons (its 28' round 4' deep) what should my ph level be? I'm trying to determine how much borax I need to add. My ph is 7.2 now chlorine is on the high side.

Unless your TA is low, there isn't any great need to raise the PH unless it goes below 7.2 or you are using trichlor. The PH will tend to go up on it's own.
