I just got the pool up and running. Joined this web site. Got some info. Pool was doing great, took the family to New Orleans for 3 days, and came back to this! What happened and what can I do to fix it? Really cloudy but you can see the bottom when standing by pool.

Also, I don't know how to turn the photo so you can see it straight.

Yup, pools are a living being. They must be fed everyday (chlorine) or bad things happen.

You need to SLAM. In your warm climate if you don't get on it you won't see the bottom for long.

Clearly your FC level dropped too low for your CYA level ... as shown in the FC/CYA Chart. The floater was not likely adding enough FC and the CYA from the tablets is building up. Please check out the How to Chlorinate Your Pool article.

Can you post up a full set of test results? Hopefully using one of the Recommended Test Kits.

The solution is following the ShockLevelAndMAINTAIN Process, which requires the FAS-DPD chlorine test.
