Polygroup Pump Upgrade Question (F1000c)

I've recently purchased this pool: http://www.kmart.com/pro-series-20-foot-round-metal-frame-pool/p-004W001612049005P

I'm looking for input and suggestions on the pump it comes with. Out of the box it came with a SFS1000 filter and F1000C pump which does 1075 GPH or 0.11 horse.

The pool holds about 8k gallons and if I'm doing my math correctly it should need to run for about 8 hours to filter the entire pool. I'm hoping this is correct.

The problem is that 8 hours doesn't even seem to do it and the suction doesn't seem to be very strong. As a side not I have 4x20 solar panel running as well but the problem seemed to exist before. I don't have a bypass for the solar yet as I'm waiting for the parts to come in.

Is this pump really that bad?

Should it be upgraded and if so to what size? Currently the solar panels are just along our fence but next year they might be mounted on the roof.

Any help would be great.

Is that the pump connected to the skimmer? If so, I would guess that is way under powered and not likely to do much if anything, especially with solar added.

A few people on the forum have this and seem to like it:

It also comes with a SWG which is a nice plus.

Where is the solar located?

Currently the solar is just a few feet from the pool along the fence and the pump is in the skimmer.

What's a good system that isn't salt water? Since I am running chlorine currently I'm not sure if I can switch to salt with the same water, or can I?
