too much salt in pool

my salt reading is 5700, ideal is 2500
i didn't add the salt, local pool guy did it for me when i was a beginner
is there any harm in this? its been like this for a while and water has been balanced well. everything is good except this.
anything i can do about it or should do?

If the SWG is not complaining (although I am surprised it is not), then you are fine.

test results from pool shop (my pool shop is one which is actually phenomenal, very rare).

Look up the manual for your SWG and see if that level is in range. It gradually lowers though filling pool with your hose, or rainwater, so I'd let it go.

I was just going to post the same question - I just got the salt test kit and the first reading was 4800 - clearly more than I need. But I will just let it go based on your comments.

If the SWG is happy, you should be too. Two things to remember:

1) We seldom trust pool store testing
2) If it ain't broke, don't keep fixing it 'til it is!
