pool start up / converting to salt walter

Hey everyone,

Bought a salt water system for my above ground pool but need to wait to find some fittings. However would like to get it up and running. Can I use regular shock and chemicals then switch to salt in a week or so?

Welcome to TFP!

We do not recommend the use of "shock". You can (and should) treat a pool as a bleach pool (and balance everything) until/before the SWG is running.

Also, you may wish to clarify whether that is North Sydney, Australia or North Sydney, Nova Scotia.
