Replacement Motor by Advantage Manufacturing

I am considering my options on a new 1-1/2 HP 2-speed motor for my Super Pump.

Best pricing I can find on a typical name brand is an A.O. Smith STS1152R from Locke Well and Pump for $271.

I also found on eBay a guy selling some new generic brand for $170. That's a $101 savings. It is an Advantage Manufacturing motor with a 2 year warranty. Does anyone have any feedback they can give me on these generic motors?

Provide the link if you don't mind. I picked up a remanufactured one from eBay, happy with it. 1 year down.

Reads pretty good to be ... that switch looks the same as the one on my Superflo. Comes with the shaft seal and a 2 year warranty ... might be worth the chance.

Of course make sure you take the shipping into account ... might only save $75

Good point. Their shipping is slightly more than Locke. It would be about $80 savings over the name brand. Hmmm. Something for me to ponder.
