Clarification for DE filter backwash

I am backwashing for the first time. I have a Hayward Pro-Grid DE2420 filter. On the sticker it says I will need to add 3lbs of DE.

So I've run the pump on backwash for a few minutes and my water doesn't seem to get clearer than this:

I've tried going back to rinse, and then back to backwash...it has maybe gotten a little better than the picture, but not much. Am I just not running it for long enough? I was under the impression I need to wait until it's completely clear. Am I wrong?

Also wanted to clarify that if the sticker says I need to add 3lbs of DE, I should realistically add about 80% of that, so about 2.4 lbs...is that right?

I think you may need to just backwash more. When was the last time you actually opened the filter up for a thorough cleaning? See the DE Filter Cleaning Tutorial.

If you do just backwash, then yes, only add 80%.
