    Filter Sight Glass Question

This morning I was backwashing my sand filter and noticed that water was shooting out of the sight glass. Is that normal? I'm assuming this is called a sight glass, but maybe it's the air bleeder? This filter is supposed to self-bleed out the air and there is no air bleeder on top like my last filter.
    Here's a picture of it:

    Re: Filter Sight Glass Question

That's not the sight glass but air bleeder.
No sight glass on that model, but there should be a pressure gauge.
Here's the owners manual that comes from Pentair for that model: http://www.pentairpool.com/pdfs/sandfiltergenericOM.pdf
Here's the link to the main filter page for the Cristal-Flo II filters: http://www.pentairpool.com/products/...filters-32.htm

    Re: Filter Sight Glass Question

Great, thanks for the links, Bobodaclown, I really appreciate it. There is a pressure gauge. I just thought it was strange that water was shooting out of the air bleeder, but maybe that's normal. Going to read the manual now to see.

Mmmm...well it's not the air bleeder. This is the air bleeder I believe, according to the manual (the round thing above the label). I'm not finding anything like the glass thing in the manual.

Can you post 2 pictures of each side and the label. It's a little too close.
    Does it twist to close?

Yeah, I'll get some better pics tomorrow. It's raining right now. The air bleeder looks like it twists. The glass thing does not. The only thing I can come up with is that it's a sight glass, with built in holes in it. Our last filter had a sight glass but no holes in it.
