Passed SLAM ... Still Chewing Chlorine!

Hello,

I've passed the SLAM procedures 2x and on a typical day I'll use 3 units of chlorine. The past few days in Vegas have been extremely windy and I've been going through 6 units a day. There is a lot of construction in the area and I've been removing plenty of leaves, dirt and junk from the pool daily. Is using that much chlorine on a windy, dirty day normal? Does construction have anything to do with it? Also, how close together can you add chlorine and muriatic acid.

So with all that dust and leaves and junk you have your explanation: those are dirtying your pool and causing the increase in CL consumption. Most people say 30-60 mins apart. I sometimes put them in at the same time but opposite ends of the pool.

Thanks for finally giving me my answer! The whole spring was the same way, very bad this year, and I thought there was something else wrong. The one good thing about it happening was it led me to this site.
