    New DIY Pool in Phoenix

Hi guys, finally started our pool. Decided that we can get much more pool than if we go with a pool builder. Below is the plan that we are going with.
    - - - Updated - - -

Our backyard has been pretty empty for the past 5 years.

We saved a lot of money hiring cheap, young help:

Its tough working in 110 Degrees.

But its amazing how fast they can work when you promise them an X-Box!

First major problem: Was at home when dig started but had to go to work. Wife was home when excavator finished. Excavator dug only one hole for a skimmer and it is in the wrong place. Memo to self and others: next time make sure pool designer marks on design where skimmers should go.

    - - - Updated - - -

Talked to plumber, red Xs mark where skimmers should go.

That's me using the jackhammer digging a new hole for the skimmer.

Question: Should the wrong skimmer hole be filled back up with dirt? Will ask plumber and shotcrete guys also.

Gas came in yesterday. About a 190 feet run from the front of the house and under the driveway.

To the side of the house and then to the pool equipment area, barbecue, and two fire woks.

Won't be able to charge my Leaf in the garage for a couple of weeks until electric goes in the same trench and after first inspection.

No need to back fill the wrong skimmer area yet. Shot crete crew can add a piece of plywood to spray against. Then backfill when they are done. Looks good so far.

Hi Lacey, I love my Leaf. No maintenance, no fluids or belts to change ever. Quietest car you will ever drive. Have to be careful if you live in a hot climate like Phoenix, it will wear out the battery much quicker. I have lost about 18 percent capacity in 19 months. However, I drive a lot. I have put over 29,500 miles so far. If you live in a more moderate climate, the battery will last much longer.

Just curious, how much did the excavation cost? Nice Leaf by the way. I'm about to hit 30K miles on mine this week.

Excavation $3712. Had another bid at 3500 but they weren't able to come out until next week.

Plumbers are here today with all the pool equipment, will have more pics tomorrow of plumbing when they are done. By the way, we opted to not go with the in-floors. Will be getting the Dolphin M5.

Looks like you went with Marshall.

Did you get your equipment from him as well?

Did he find the subs for you?

Spanky, you can PM me and I'll send you the list of subs I used. Yes we brought all our equipment from Marshall. His prices are pretty competitive and they will often match prices.
