    When should I use recirculate?

What application does the recirculate slot have on my multiport valve for the pool sand filter? Haven't ever used it and wondered what its purpose is.

You can use it if you need to repair the filter or in the middle of a SLAM when you can not backwash often enough.

If you're clearing a swamp and you want to keep the chemicals circulating but you won't be around to backwash every hour as the filter loads up, you'd use recirculate.
