Hello Everyone,
New pool owner here, I am very DIY guy, so hopefully this is an issue I can work out with you all instead of calling a professional. $$$$.
We just moved into house and we have a ~30K gallon DE filter pool. We have noticed a brown scale at the bottom of our pool. What is causing this and how can I clean it up?
I have my chemistry specs here: (Keep in mind I am new)
Total Chlorine- 4
CYA: 151
PH: 7.8
Tot Alkalinity: 99
Adjusted Alk: 54
Total Hardness: 352
Please let me know what I can besides draining, I heard something about a no drian acid wash.

Thanks everyone!

Welcome to TFP!

Out of the gate you need to get your CYA under control or get your CL up into the range where it can actually sanitize the pool at that CYA. See This Chart. Your target at CYA of 150 is a minimum of 11 with an upper normal range of 18.

Once we get the basic chemistry under control we can tackle the scale / stain.

What are you using for testing?
