"Better" is a very subjective word. They both use Taylor chemistry, The TF100 supplies more of the reagents most folks use.

Yes, the colormatching FC test on the 2006 is DPD (NOT the same as FAS-DPD) and is pink. It can fade out at high FC levels. The TF100 is OTO and reads yellow and will just get darker shades through yellow, orange and brown as FC gets higher.

Troublefree does not mean Maintenancefree. It's like brushing your teeth: You can spend a couple minutes a day and pennies a week or go to the dentist once a year and spend several thousand dollars.

My K2006 doesn't appear to have a colour matching FC test, just FAS-DPD.

I already had a couple of cheap OTO kits anyways, so no loss

    Same here.

Richard, did the older 2006 have a color match in it? The "Test Kits Compared" page shows the 2006 as having no OTO included.

I'm getting the K-2006 confused with the K-2005. Nevermind.

OK, at least I'm not going crazy (my wife would argue that point).

Alanmathew got the TF100 which is a great choice! I bought my 2006C before I found this site and knew about the TF100 or TFTestkits.

    Re: Which one?

I like the Taylor kit better myself. Only because the case has a much smaller footprint than the TF100.

It even fits my SpeedStir and bottle under the lid.

Yep, the Taylor kit has a really nice case. I think the case alone is $33 in Canada

Amazon won't ship to Canada... the kit is $135 up here.

Seriously? An additional $80 to cross the border. That's just not right.

    Re: Which one?

It's not just crossing the border, it probably has to go through a couple of warehouses too

But yeah, some things are a *lot* cheaper south of the border.
