poop in pool

I'm taking care of a friends pool when he's out of town. I have about 2 weeks until he gets back and I'm going to skip the details but poop is now in the pool. And I waited to long and its not solid anymore. The pool is filthy now and I know nothing about pools. What do I do?

We need lots of details, pool size, type, how it is sanitized, do you have a good quality test kit, etc , but probably the best thing to do is tell your friend and find out how they want to handle it

Haha. Sorry. Does your friend have a test kit on site?

We're not really into sorry term fixes here. It's more about education and long term pool care.

Short answer is bleach and running filter/pump continuously.

Doing it properly requires a crash course in the Pool School link at the top of the forum.
