replumbing new filter control valve SP711-txc --> SP0714T

I am replacing my cracked SP711-txc control valve with SP0714T control valve. I have included pictures. The new head INTAKE is to the side and not directly above the RETURN. I am looking at 2x 90's, but does anyone have any helpful tips with regards to attaching it?

In case anyone has this issue - I used two 45 degree PVC and it worked fine.

Thanks for updating your results, Brian.
Here I am 5 years later needing to replace my SP-711 and wondering why they changed the location of the ports.

Anyhow, has the SPO714T been good to you?
