    leaking pump, do I use lube on the o ring

    I have a leak, right where the pump and the strainer basket join together, there is an o ring that fits in there, It is a doughboy powerline 3047, should I use lube on the small o ring

    Yes you should lube any of the o-rings.

    With any luck, it won't be a shot shaft/mechanical seal.
