Ok to put bleach in auto fill canister?

The water inside my auto fill canister looks green. The pool is clear. Can I add some liquid chlorine to the canister and if so, how much? I have 10%.

The canister hasn't been looked at for 6 months, perhaps I should check it regularly.

You probably only need 1 oz of bleach, perhaps even less. You might also want to do a little scrubbing to make sure you get all of the algae.

Ok I am such a newbie! I opened it up and it is clear! It was just early evening when I checked it and the plastic is yellow above the water line so it must have been an optical illusion. In full sun the water is completely clear. Thanks for your speedy reply. Any idea what to do about my calcium hardness post?

Ok....I finally figured out how to isolate my activity once I find at least one of my posts by clicking on my user name. Thanks for your patience, I'm still learning proper navigation on the site.
